[PV-Storage-Charging Case] Changzhou Zhongwu Hotel 'PV-Storage-Charging-Discharging-Testing' Demonstration Station Officially Launched

Recently, the Changzhou Zhongwu Hotel 'PV-storage-charging-discharging-testing' demonstration station, jointly created by StarCharge and Changzhou Urban Construction Group, officially came online. Integrating five functions — PV, energy storage, charging, discharging, and battery testing — in one, the station can, through the StarCharge intelligent energy management system, ultimately achieve safe, efficient, low-carbon, and even 'zero-carbon' operation across the entire station, supporting Changzhou's development as the 'New Energy Capital' and accelerating the achievement of China's 'dual carbon' goals.



'PV-storage-charging-discharging' integration means converting solar energy into electricity through PV canopies for use by charging piles, while surplus electricity is stored in energy storage equipment and released for users at night. Power generation involves no environmental or noise pollution; it not only meets NEV owners' daily charging needs but also lets new energy vehicles truly run on new energy electricity, enabling green travel while lowering the station's electricity costs and achieving cost reduction and efficiency gains.



The station has 28 charging parking spaces, equipped with 1 unit of 360kW ultra-fast charging pile, 3 units of 60kW fast chargers, 12 units of 7kW slow chargers, 2 units of V2G bidirectional charging-discharging piles, and one commercial-and-industrial energy storage unit. The rooftop also features a 680-square-meter PV canopy with a peak power of 145.2kW, providing about 150,000 kWh of clean power generation annually. Meanwhile, based on PV generation estimates, the station can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 120 tons and save about 43.7 tons of standard coal each year.



Among them, the 360kW smart charging pile incorporates a battery testing module that inspects the vehicle's power battery safety while charging is under way; users can view the test report in the StarCharge app and keep track of their vehicle's battery condition in real time. Notably, this is also Changzhou's first publicly accessible 'PV-storage-charging-discharging-testing' smart station.


Currently, centered on the 532 development strategy, Changzhou is pushing forward the building of the 'New Energy Capital', and electric and green mobility have become a trend across the city, with more and more smart recharging scenarios gradually taking shape and reaching scale. To date, more than 700 charging stations have come online on the StarCharge platform in Changzhou, with more than 10,000 charging terminals, including integrated 'PV-storage-charging-discharging' charging stations and high-power liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging stations.
