[OEM Partnership Case] Dongfeng Motor Zero-Carbon Super Station

On February 21, 2023, the Dongfeng Motor V2G Zero-Carbon Super Station in Wuhan was unveiled and put into operation.

StarCharge provided the overall planning for the station, not only matching it with most of its charging and V2G equipment, but also providing services for its later operations and energy innovation.

The Dongfeng Motor V2G Zero-Carbon Super Station is configured with 19 AC charging piles; considering the station's image and investment costs, 11kW Aurora and 7kW Crescent models were chosen, and for DC charging equipment, 480kW split-type charging piles were selected, some equipped with liquid-cooled terminals.

For smart energy, StarCharge's M60 PV inverters and eBox-215 series energy storage systems were chosen. Through comprehensive flexible energy control technology and backend energy management algorithm dispatching, efficient coordination of PV-storage-charging-discharging energy is achieved; actual dependence on the upstream grid is as low as 0.1MW, approaching zero-carbon operation, with carbon dioxide emissions expected to be reduced by 110 tons annually.

The station also has virtual power plant (VPP) functionality: during peak electricity consumption at Building No. 2 of the Dongfeng Technical Center campus, it can automatically adjust energy storage and implement intelligent discharge planning, delivering a maximum power supply capability of 518kW — about 40% of the building's electrical capacity.
