On the morning of December 1, the commissioning ceremony for Phase I of the transportation intelligent equipment manufacturing base of Inner Mongolia Mengma Intelligent Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter 'Mengma Intelligent Manufacturing') was grandly held at the Digital Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park of the Data Center Cluster in Horinger New Area, Inner Mongolia. Bao Gang, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Committee and Secretary of the CPC Hohhot Municipal Committee; He Haidong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hohhot Municipal Committee and Mayor; and Gao Shiqin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Inner Mongolia Department of Transportation, among others, attended the ceremony, joined by responsible officials from the Inner Mongolia State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Inner Mongolia Power Group and Inner Mongolia Transportation Group, as well as municipal leaders Cao Zhi, Tara and Zhu Jianguo. Shao Danwei, Chairman of StarCharge, and Xi Wenjie, Chairman of Inner Mongolia Expressway Industry Co., Ltd., delivered speeches at the ceremony.
The successful commissioning of Phase I of Mengma Intelligent Manufacturing owes much to the close cooperation among Inner Mongolia Transportation Group, Inner Mongolia Expressway Industry and Wanbang Digital Energy Co., Ltd. (StarCharge), as well as the strong support and careful guidance of governments at all levels. Within Horinger New Area's favorable environment of industrial clustering formed around computing power projects, the two sides combined their respective resource advantages and professional capabilities in a powerful partnership to jointly build this industry-leading intelligent manufacturing base. This commissioning is not only an important milestone in the company's development, but also a strong boost to regional industrial upgrading and high-quality economic development.
The Mengma transportation intelligent equipment manufacturing base is a joint venture established by Inner Mongolia Expressway Industry and Wanbang Digital Energy Co., Ltd. (StarCharge), a third-tier subsidiary under Inner Mongolia Transportation Group. With a total investment of RMB 500 million, the project mainly produces intelligent equipment for the transportation sector — smart charging facilities, heavy-duty truck battery-swapping facilities, smart electrical equipment, smart tolling facilities, sensing and monitoring facilities, smart box-type transformers and more — as well as undertaking energy storage system integration business. Once Phase I is completed and reaches full capacity, it will be capable of producing more than 4,000 charging and battery-swapping units of various types, more than 3,000 intelligent transportation devices, and 1GWh of energy storage equipment per year, with annual output value expected to exceed RMB 1 billion at full capacity and about 200 jobs created. Phase II plans to invest RMB 400 million to expand smart manufacturing capacity for energy storage systems, targeting an annual capacity of 6GWh, with annual output value expected to exceed RMB 3 billion at full capacity.
At the commissioning ceremony, guests from all sectors gathered to witness this grand occasion. Government leaders and company executives expressed in their speeches the high importance they attach to the project and their firm confidence in its future, painting a grand blueprint for Mengma Intelligent Manufacturing's development. The project introduction session gave guests an in-depth understanding of Phase I's construction achievements, technological innovations and broad market prospects. Afterwards, agreements including the project strategic framework agreement and the virtual power plant project investment agreement were signed successively. Notably, only two short months passed from signing the investment agreement to official commissioning — remarkable efficiency that further deepened cooperation among all parties, demonstrated their determination and capability to move forward hand in hand, and injected powerful momentum into the company's sustained development. The commissioning launch ceremony brought the event to its climax, marking Mengma Intelligent Manufacturing's official entry into the production and operation stage and the start of a new journey in intelligent manufacturing.
The advanced production equipment, efficient process flows and intelligent management systems of Phase I all showcase Mengma Intelligent Manufacturing's outstanding strength and innovative spirit in intelligent manufacturing. The completion and commissioning of Phase I will inject fresh vitality into transportation equipment and new energy infrastructure manufacturing in northern China and the autonomous region, fill the gap in the autonomous region's locally-made EV charging pile industry, and carry great significance for the development of the autonomous region's new energy equipment industry.
