01 828: Charging for the 'Dream'
On August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous speech 'I Have a Dream.' As the founder of StarCharge, Ms. Shao Danwei also has a dream: through one public-welfare event each year, to solve the industry's common pain points and challenges, call on new energy vehicle owners to practice low-carbon lifestyles, and protect the Earth environment we depend on for survival. Therefore, starting in 2018, StarCharge designated August 28 each year as the 'StarCharge 828 Low-Carbon Festival,' and around the festival it carries out a wide variety of public-welfare activities through a combination of online and offline channels, joining hands with Star Friends across the country to jointly build and safeguard a beautiful electric world, clean world, and low-carbon world.
It is worth mentioning that this was also the first large-scale charging festival for new energy vehicle owners founded in China. From 2018 to today, it has been a full five years. Over these five years, StarCharge has consistently advocated and upheld the concept of green environmental protection, leading the way as a low-carbon pioneer:
From 2018, when StarCharge kicked off the first 'StarCharge 828 Low-Carbon Festival' with the themed event 'StarCharge lights the way, passing on the low-carbon dream'; to 2019, when it first voiced in the industry: 'Charge only, no occupying'; and to 2021, when it continued its original low-carbon commitment, with both the number of participants charging and the charging volume hitting record highs on the day of the event. This year, StarCharge sets out once again around the theme 'Use green power, get closer to zero carbon,' calling on and guiding everyone to understand and use 'green electricity' through green electricity trading and green power certificate purchases, thereby driving the green transition of energy and helping achieve the 'dual carbon' goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.

How do we charge with green electricity during this event? Users simply open the StarCharge app or the StarCharge mini-program, select a station tagged 'Green Power Station,' choose the destination station to charge, select green electricity as the source at settlement, and earn a green energy achievement after completing the order. The event will officially begin on August 22, with more than 3,000 stations participating nationwide.
