StarCharge's 'Scenario-Based Microgrid' Shines at the 2024 China Charging and Battery-Swapping Ecosystem Conference, Boosting High-Quality Development of the Industry Ecosystem

21 Oct 2026

November 21, 2024, the 'Scenario-Based Microgrid' featured session of the 2024 China Charging and Battery-Swapping Ecosystem Conference was grandly convened in Taiyuan, Shanxi. The breakout session focused on the innovative application and development of microgrids across different scenarios, drawing widespread attention and active participation from all sectors of the industry.

Against the backdrop of accelerating global energy transition and transportation electrification, the scenario-based microgrid has drawn ever-greater attention as a key technical pathway for solving the energy supply and management challenges of charging and battery-swapping infrastructure. As an industry pioneer, StarCharge keenly seized this trend and initiated this scenario-based microgrid themed breakout session, creating an opportunity for in-depth exchange among industry experts and enterprise representatives to jointly explore new ideas, technologies, and solutions for the integrated development of scenario-based microgrids and charging and battery swapping.

StarCharge, the lead organizer of this 'Scenario-Based Microgrid' themed forum, was rated No. 1 globally in cumulative charging pile sales over the past decade. Its business covers charging, energy, and multi-scenario asset operation, and it can deliver digital energy products together with 'cloud-pipe-terminal' (software + services + hardware) integrated solutions for every scenario. It is committed to leading the three-network integration of the charging network, microgrids, and the Mobile Energy Internet, developing clean energy and energy digitalization by fusing digital and cloud platform technologies with PV-storage-charging-discharging-trading, virtual power plants, and electricity trading. In the ten years since its founding, backed by professional R&D and manufacturing strength and rich charging operation experience, it has remained dedicated to building the Mobile Energy Internet ecosystem and supporting the realization of the 'dual carbon' (carbon peaking and carbon neutrality) goals.

Yang Zhongping, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, delivered a splendid opening address for the forum, extending a warm welcome to the attending guests and expounding the far-reaching significance of the breakout session. He remarked: 'As an innovative energy solution, the scenario-based microgrid has a crucial impact on the development of the charging and battery-swapping ecosystem. It is not merely a technological innovation, but also one of the key paths for meeting energy challenges and achieving sustainable development. I hope colleagues across sectors will fully recognize and tap the value of scenario-based microgrids, jointly explore their application and optimization in different scenarios, and inject new vitality into the industry's development.'

During the forum, a splendid succession of keynote speeches unfolded. Wu Sheng, Dean of the Scenario-Based Microgrid Research Institute, opened with a themed presentation on 'Scenario-based microgrids, attentive to every need.' Wu said that for individuals, the significance of the scenario-based microgrid goes far beyond simple power supply assurance — it is a solution for saturated smart-living needs, bringing greater security and freedom. As artificial intelligence technology iterates by leaps and bounds, StarCharge's scenario-based microgrid technologies and products endow the microgrid, a core component of the new-type power system, with greater intelligence, networking, and coordination. These innovations can not only effectively integrate distributed energy resources such as PV and storage, but also achieve precise regulation of charging and battery-swapping facilities, meeting the charging and energy needs of EVs in different scenarios while helping safeguard the safe, stable operation of the grid. Afterwards, StarCharge's Product General Manager and Business General Manager, sharing the product technology roadmap and real-world cases respectively, vividly demonstrated the outstanding performance of scenario-based microgrids across residential, community, plateau, rural, source-grid, commercial-and-industrial, campus, and charging station scenarios. In extreme environments in particular, the scenario-based microgrid project at Nailang Monastery in Tibet, at an altitude of 4,300 meters, has successfully weathered 4-5 power outages per month, with its longest off-grid support exceeding 132 hours — giving the audience a much clearer picture of StarCharge's strength in scenario-based microgrids.

In addition, Huang Shan, founder of the Yiwa Research Institute, shared the overall approach to scenario-based microgrid solutions from an industry observer's perspective. The trends of distributed and diversified energy production, technology-driven advances in software and hardware capabilities, and the continual opening of power markets and policies are all fueling the growth of smart microgrids. In the current economic and policy environment, the focus falls on key and priority scenarios, advancing the intelligent retrofit of grid infrastructure and the construction of scenario-based microgrids. From early-stage planning and technical alignment to later operation and maintenance, StarCharge — with its widely deployed charging stations and its 'cloud-edge-terminal' model of fully self-developed product lines and efficient collaboration — can better leverage the 'charging + energy' combination to run the assets of each scenario with precision, thereby achieving a full industry-chain presence and continuous upgrading covering everything from charging to energy production, storage, management, consumption, and trading for new energy vehicles, perfectly fusing microgrids with charging and battery-swapping facilities and offering a clear line of thinking for cooperation models within the industry.

The roundtable forum brought the atmosphere to a climax. Guests engaged in heated discussion on topics including current policies, multi-scenario applications of scenario-based microgrids, compatibility with existing grids, and microgrid reliability in extreme environments. StarCharge's representatives argued that scenario-based microgrids, attentive to every need and precisely applied, are the guarantee of energy reliability. Long-life hardware brings customers greater safety and reliability, while scenario sharing and open AI bring the cost of energy use infinitely close to 0 yuan. From scenario-based microgrid planning through scenario development, facing different scenario application needs, industry needs, and market and customer needs, StarCharge has always insisted on defining products with technology and supporting solutions with products. These scenarios can be residential and community settings, where self-use bidirectional charging and discharging systems ensure constant temperature and uninterrupted power; plateau and rural settings, where off-grid operation support makes charging and energy use more convenient and stable, encouraging more people to happily try new energy vehicles; commercial-and-industrial and campus settings, achieving lower costs and reliable supply; or source-grid and charging station settings, making energy smarter and more valuable.

During the forum, Scenario Lab, known for crafting scenario-based new species and categories, launched the Scenario-Based Microgrid Global Case Co-Building Program. Its first phase will feature collaborative demonstrations with StarCharge covering residential, rural, high-energy-consumption commercial-and-industrial, and low-carbon campus scenarios. Scenario initiators contribute scenarios and needs, while StarCharge will tailor solutions and provide co-building funding and resource support for different scenarios — a timely, tangible boon for scenario initiators still watching from the sidelines.

The success of thisStarChargescenario-based microgrid featured breakout forum during the 2024 China Charging and Battery-Swapping Ecosystem Conference not only demonstrates StarCharge's innovative leadership in the charging and battery-swapping field, but also provides an important exchange platform and a shared direction for the industry's development of scenario-based microgrids. We believe that, with the active efforts of StarCharge and its peers, scenario-based microgrids will play an ever-greater role in the charging and battery-swapping ecosystem, helping China's charging and battery-swapping industry reach new heights.
