StarCharge: Empowering Zero-Carbon Park Development Across the Full Chain, Injecting Industrial Momentum into the Implementation of the Dual Carbon Strategy
September 10, at the 4th Academicians' Forum on the Eco-Environmental Protection Industry Serving the 'Dual Carbon' Strategy, held during the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), zero-carbon park development, as a core topic of the two pioneering demonstration scenarios of 'beautiful cities' and 'low-carbon parks', sparked extensive discussion among participants. At the forum, Chen Mingjun, a representative of Wanbang Digital Energy (StarCharge), shared StarCharge's exploration achievements and typical cases in zero-carbon park practice. Its fully in-house-developed technology system and systematic construction pathway provide a replicable solution for the green and low-carbon transformation of industrial parks.

Data shows that China currently has about 89,000 industrial parks, including about 2,500 national-level high-tech parks, whose total energy consumption accounts for 33% of the national total, with energy supply heavily dependent on the traditional power grid. 'Many parks lack digital energy management and suffer from low energy efficiency — this is both a difficulty in carbon reduction and a breakthrough point for transformation,' Chen Mingjun pointed out. In response, StarCharge has built a systematic solution of 'seven core modules + seven implementation steps' based on parks' actual needs: in building energy systems, it makes full use of park rooftops, PV canopies, and PV carports to expand green energy production; in energy efficiency management, it sets up a digital energy management platform to monitor park electricity load curves in real time and achieve precise energy savings; and in operations, it promotes the circular economy and green, low-carbon innovation, reducing the carbon footprint across the entire chain from production to consumption.
In concrete practice, StarCharge focuses on building microgrid systems to connect the last mile of energy and the dual carbon goals. By deploying PV generation on park rooftops, PV canopies, and PV carports, combined with energy storage construction and digital management tools, it helps high-energy-consumption enterprises accurately grasp their energy consumption curves — for enterprises in East China with annual electricity consumption of 100 million to 1 billion kWh, its technical solutions can achieve both energy savings and carbon reduction goals, while helping enterprises cope with electricity load restrictions and ensuring regional grid stability.

Notably, the company's innovative exploration in vehicle-grid interaction has become a new highlight in demand-side carbon reduction. From August to September this year, StarCharge piloted vehicle-grid interaction in East China, where NEV owners could receive subsidies for discharging electricity to the grid — RMB 4 per kWh in Jiangsu and up to RMB 8 in Shanghai. If a single vehicle discharges 50 kWh per day on average, the owner can earn an economic return of RMB 300 to 400. 'This not only lets new energy vehicles power hot pots and coffee makers while camping, or feed electricity back to villa households, but can also relieve grid pressure from peak electricity use in industrial parks through aggregated discharge from 50 or 100 vehicles,' said Chen Mingjun, with the digital energy cockpit cases he presented intuitively demonstrating the practical results of this model.
In addition, StarCharge has partnered with certification bodies such as CQC and TÜV Rheinland to provide dual-carbon certification services for enterprises, along with full-chain support including consulting and training and the establishment of dual-carbon management systems, helping enterprises enhance their green development image. 'Zero-carbon park development is not a project accomplished overnight, but a systematic transformation that requires long-term commitment and continuous optimization, demanding multi-dimensional coordination of technology, management, and ecosystem,' said Chen Mingjun, a relevant executive of StarCharge, adding that StarCharge will continue to focus on technological innovation, increasing R&D investment in energy storage technology, intelligent control algorithms, digital twins, and other areas, continuously upgrading its zero-carbon solutions and improving their intelligence and refinement; at the same time, it will further expand its practice into industrial parks across different industries and regions, tailoring solutions to actual needs and helping more parks achieve green transformation. StarCharge has now extended an invitation to society, welcoming government departments, research institutions, park enterprises, and people from all walks of life to visit and exchange ideas at its Jiangsu headquarters, to jointly explore new paths of zero-carbon development and build a green, low-carbon, and sustainable industrial ecosystem together.
At this critical stage in advancing China's 'dual carbon' strategy, StarCharge, driven by technological innovation and guided by practical implementation, has blazed a distinctive development path in zero-carbon park development characterized by 'full-chain empowerment, full-scenario coverage, and full-lifecycle service'. Its systematic construction pathway, innovative vehicle-grid interaction model, and comprehensive service system not only provide a practical and feasible solution for the low-carbon transformation of industrial parks, but also inject new vitality into the green transformation of the energy industry, becoming an important force in driving the achievement of the 'dual carbon' goals. As more parks join the ranks of zero-carbon development, StarCharge will continue to leverage its technological and experiential strengths to help more enterprises achieve green development, contributing actively to building a beautiful China and advancing global sustainable development.
